Pea Ridge National Military Park. A seven-mile, eleven-stop tour road loops around the military park, offering chances to explore the natural and historic features of the landscape. Before the Civil War battle of March 7-8, 1862, the area was scattered with small settlements, agricultural fields, and roads.
The battle events, which were influenced by the features of the landscape, also left traces that can still be observed. For example, the Federal trenches remain, and little evidence is left of Leetown after it was deserted.
