Kim’s participation in the Artist-in-Residence program “came at the perfect time to help me through a crisis of confidence in my work.” She credits her weeks at the lakeshore with a “soul-sustaining renewal of both energy and spirit and a firing of my imagination” which resulted in the creation of numerous art works and the realization of plans for art works that had become stalled.
From her vantage point at the shore, Kim was privileged to watch a far-off lightning storm gather over the lake, while the near prospect remained calm and unaffected. Living at the shore, she says, gave opportunities to see nature that she would not have had anywhere else.
