Manzanar National Historic Site The 814 acre site is open every day from dawn to dusk. Due to budget and staffing constraints, Manzanar National Historic Site's Interpretive Center will remain on shorter "winter" hours (9:00 to 4:30) throughout 2013. In years past, the center remained open an extra hour a day from April 1 through October 31. Open daily 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed December 25 |
Did You Know?
One hundred fifty Japanese Americans died while interned at Manzanar, but only six are still buried in the cemetery. Most of the 150 people were cremated, and others were removed from the cemetery after the war.
