During World War 11,174 men and women confined at Manzanar joined the U.S. military. This Veteran's Day, we honor them, Owens Valley veterans, and all those who have served our country throughout its history.
The program begins at 11 a.m. with the Presentation of Colors by Vietnam veterans from the Bishop Paiute Tribe, followed by a video tribute to all veterans.
Photographer/author Tom Graves will discuss his upcoming book, Twice Heroes: America's Nisei Veterans of World War II and Korea. The Twice Heroes photo exhibit will be on display at Manzanar through December 31, 2012.
Refreshments provided by Manzanar History Association.
The program is free and open to the public.
