A variety of educational opportunities are available throughout the year for schools to take advantage of park rangers coming to the classrooms. The following programs are available and can be scheduled.

Experience Your America
(Third and Fourth Grades)

Students will be introduced to the different National Parks around the country and locally through hands on show and tell activities. Through a slide show and park related artifacts, students will learn about the historical and natural wonders located in America.

Elephant Program
(Pre-Kindergarten—First Grade)

Students will be introduced to Mrs. Bethune and an animal she admired and collected, the elephant. Students will listen to a park ranger read a story about Mrs. Bethune, take a tour of the home, identify the miniature elephants in the home, and after the tour color a picture of Bethune and an elephant.

Social Action Through Music
(Seventh & Ninth Grades)

Students will analyze the use of creative expression through music and how it is used to promote social action and protest.

Living the Legacy
