The Mary McLeod Bethune Council House NHS, offers a number of opportunities for young people all ages to visit and leave a Junior Ranger. With Junior Ranger sessions held twice a year, and other activities such as the "Trace My Family Roots" Genealogy, or the Elephant Game, there is no way children will go home empty headed or handed! Also, ask about our "Student Packets" equipped with enough information to complete a thorough report on Mary McLeod Bethune and her life and accomplishments.

Did You Know?
In 1904, Mary McLeod Bethune opened a small school in Daytona Beach, Florida, with five girls and one dollar and fifty cents. That school developed into Bethune-Cookman University. Today, the university has over 3,060 students enrolled.
