Special Events at Mammoth Cave NP
Every year Mammoth Cave National Park offers special events that highlight the natural and cultural resources that make Mammoth Cave unique among National Parks. From wildflower walks to preservation and genealogy workshops to the traditional Cave Sing, there's usually something to look forward to at the "Monarch of Caves". Did You Know?
Native Americans of the Early Woodland period gathered minerals from Mammoth Cave between 2,000 and 4,000 years ago ... no one knows why. Objects they left behind – slippers, cane torches, gourds, and mussel shells – remain perfectly preserved in the cave.
