End of season for campgrounds, Houchin Ferry

(MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. - November 26, 2012) December marks the end of the season for certain services at Mammoth Cave National Park, including camping at Maple Springs Group Campground and Mammoth Cave Campground, and ferry service at Houchin Ferry.

The ferry boat at Houchin Ferry will operate through Saturday, December 1, closing at the end of shift at 6:00 p.m. The ferry service will resume in March 2013.

Maple Springs Group Campground and Mammoth Cave Campground (near the Visitor Center) will be closed December 1, 2012, through February 28, 2013.

The primitive campground at Houchin Ferry remains open through the winter months. Backcountry camping on the north side of Green River will also be available through the winter months.
