True Grit Back to the LBJ Ranch
Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park invites everyone to come out to the LBJ Ranch on Saturday, June 21, for a free showing of John Wayne's most famous movie, True Grit, as Johnson family friends and neighbors did in the late 1960s.

1967 Presidential Barbecue Event

On Saturday, May 17, Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park and the Friends of Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park are teaming up to create an authentic 1967 barbecue on the banks of the Pedernales River just as President and Mrs. Johnson did during the presidential years on the LBJ Ranch.

The 1960s Return to the LBJ Ranch
Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park will host the first-ever “Celebration of the 1960s” on Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12, to be held on the LBJ Ranch. Authors, educators, and experts on the tumultuous decade will gather for lectures, reminiscences and book signings in an exploration of Lyndon Johnson’s legacy in the field of education and a look back at the decade’s significance.

Luci Johnson to Lead Bike Tour of the LBJ Ranch
Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park announces the opportunity for a bicycle tour of the LBJ Ranch with Luci Baines Johnson, President Johnson’s younger daughter, as guide. The tour will be given on Saturday, March 8 (the rain date is Sunday, March 9) at 9:00 a.m.

On Sunday, December 16th, Rebecca Rather, Fredericksburg resident and owner of Rather Sweet Bakery and Café, will join the festivities at the annual Tree Lighting at the LBJ Parks in Stonewall. She will be signing copies of her beautiful new cookbook, Pastry Queen Christmas: Big Hearted Holiday Entertaining, Texas Style, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Western National Parks Association (WNPA) bookstore at the LBJ State Park and Historic Site.

A Park Ranger and Her Partner
Up until recently, park rangers patrolling here in Johnson City and on the LBJ Ranch could be found on foot and in vehicles only. But when Alison Bullington transferred to the park from Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico, she brought with her fifteen years of mounted horse patrol experience and her own horse, Zoe.

Johnson, former First Lady and steadfast friend of both parks, by instituting closures of some park sites during the period of repose and remembrance following her death on July 11.

Historic Planes, Military Re-Enactment to Highlight LBJ Ranch Air and Ground Event
The public is invited to participate in a new special event at Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park on Saturday, May 5, when the National Park Service, the International Bird Dog Association (IBDA) and Company G, a group of professional re-enactors from Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas, will join forces to remember and reveal some of the experiences of military life during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
