Birding 101

8:00-10:00 a.m.

Enjoy a stroll through the Lowell Cemetery and along the Concord River Greenway route as you learn to identify birds by sight and sound.  You will leave this program with greater confidence and a framework for identifying birds on your own.  Please bring a field guide and binoculars if you have them.  We recommend you dress for the weather and wear sturdy walking shoes. This walk will be lead by a naturalist from Audubon: Drumlin Farm and hosted with the Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust. 

Meet at the Lawrence   St. entrance to the Lowell Cemetery.

Earth Day

11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Come enjoy Earth Friendly fun!  Paint a terra cotta pot.  Kids can play in a raised garden bed.  See environmental artwork on canvas and on litter barrels.  Tour the Greenhouse.  Listen to music.  Hands on demonstrations include composting, recycling, seed starting and seed ball making.

-11:00 – noon What Happened to that Tree? Hands on workshop.

-2:30 – 3:15 p.m. Riverwalk Tour Guided tour with a Park Ranger.

Hosted with the Community Gardens Greenhouse.
