Celebrate the season with a FREE concert at Eliot Church with festive treats presented by members of the New England Orchestra (NEO), renowned guest artists and UMASS Lowell String Ensembles under the direction of Kay George Roberts. The concert is supported by the Mogan Cultural Center, a program of Lowell National Historical Park. There were female and male overseers in the mills of Lowell in the 19th century. In Rev. Henry Miles' book, Lowell As It Was, and As It Is, he mentions that the Boott Cotton Mills has recently opened a new weave room and it is being overseen by two women overseers. More...
