Lowell, Massachusetts. - Create your artistic masterpiece, explore the outdoors, go to the movies and lots more at April Play-Cation 2013! Lowell Play-Cation brings free family fun to local families during Massachusetts school vacation week, April 16-20, 2013.Following the success of this year's Lowell Kids Week in February, several of the partner organizations have decided to offer activities during April Vacation. The complete schedule of events is now available at www.lowellkidsweek.org/april. All programs are free, but some require pre-registration, so please plan ahead.
April Play-Cation, which offers over twenty free programs, aims to build connections among a diverse group of local organizations, agencies, and families within our community. This year, families will enjoy an exciting variety of new programs, as well as the returning favorites. There's something for everyone, from toddlers to teenagers!
- For outdoorsy kids? Check out a nature walk with the Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust and a trolley tour at Lowell National Historical Park!
- Want to learn a creative new skill? Make a wind chime at the American Textile History Museum, practice songwriting and bookmaking at Lowell National Historical Park, try weaving at the Tsongas Industrial History Center, and decorate a kite at the Pollard Memorial Library.
- Like to dance? Learn to salsa or join our jazz dance party at Lowell National Historical Park.
- Engineering enthusiast? Challenge yourself with Legos at the Pollard Library and canal-building at the Tsongas Industrial History Center.
