ENTRANCE FEES

Entrance to the Longfellow House - Washington's Headquarters NHS Visitor Center and Bookstore, house and gardens and grounds is FREE. Although there is no cost, visitors may view the house interior by guided tour only. During the open season (check our Operating Hours & Seasons page), tours are generally offered at 10:00 and 11:00 AM and 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:00 PM, Wednesdays through Sundays.

Even though Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was a pacifist, in 1863 his oldest child Charles ran away to join the Army of the Potomac during the Civil War.
