Learn more about the friendship between Dom Pedro II, Emperor of Brazil, and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in a lecture by Rosario Hubert, PhD candidate at Harvard University at 2PM, in the Longfellow Carriage House. Both a translator and instructor of Portuguese, Ms. Hubert holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Cultural and Brazilian Studies from Universidad de San Andres, Buenos Aires. The lecture will be followed by traditional  Brazilian music from Receita de Samba, who fuse the excitement of the Brazilian batucada with the refinement and subtlety of the jazz-tinged sounds of the Bossa Nova era. The concert will begin at 3PM on the east lawn.
