Join us in celebrating Longfellow's love of world languages as we hear from two of today's preeminent translators. Writer, poet, and translator James Kates reads from his works and discusses Russian poetry. He will be joined by Norman Shapiro, professor at Wesleyan University and one of the foremost translators of French literature. Mr. Shapiro was recently decorated as Officier de Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Minister of Culture and Communication in France.
