education programs. Some of the programs require a visit to the
park, others can be used in any off-site setting.
Programs marked with a
are based on places listed in the National Register of Historic
places, but which are not units of the National Park System. The
National Register of Historic Places, a program administered by
the National Park Service, is the nation's official list of historic
places significant at the local, state, or national levels, most
of which are privately owned and maintained.

the web site, with topics ranging from desert wildlife to
descriptions of how and why sand dunes move. On the site are
also recommended resding lists for preschool, grades 1-3,
grades 4-6, middle and high school.
