Poems Inspired by Your National Parks

Ocean

by Nathan, Grade 6

Balance, soothing sound
Feels like icy hands grabbing my feet,
trying to take me under
Requires gentle care and no pollutants
It puzzles me so, that an expanse of glittering diamonds
should stay out of reach
costs life and care
death to some
wreckage of ships that were unfortunate,
cities of coral and schools of shimmering fish.
Takes up nearly half of the earth with its waves of silver
like thousands of sparkling jewels moving in the sea
Pacific
