Main Park Road (Hwy. 89 which travels through the park)

  • Currently the main park road is CLOSED for the season.
  • Intermittent closures may occur, please call 530-595-4480 for the most up-to-date information. 
  • The road opened on June 4, 2009.
  • The road closed for the season on November 18, 2009. 
  • Read the 2009 Spring Road Opening Log
  • On average the park road closes due to snow in November and remains closed through mid-June.  Spring clearing operations begin in April.

The Lassen Volcanic National Park Main Park Road can open as early as May 10th and as late as mid-July depending on how much snow falls during the winter.
