MINERAL, CA - To honor America’s service men and women, Lassen Volcanic National Park will join other areas managed by the Department of the Interior in waiving entrance fees Saturday, November 9 through Monday, November 11. “We hope that visitors will come to Lassen Volcanic National Park this weekend to enjoy this wonderful park and remember our veterans and their role in keeping America safe,” stated Park Superintendent Darlene M. Koontz.

Visitors to Lassen Volcanic National Park and other public recreation lands managed by the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation are invited to take a day to honor and reflect on what our service men and women have done to maintain our freedom and keep peace around the world.

Lassen Volcanic National Park visitors on this particular weekend will not be charged an entrance fee and may simply enter the park and enjoy their local national park. Opportunities to explore unique volcanic landscapes, enjoy scenic vistas, hike in pristine wilderness and discover a diversity of plants and wildlife that make the park their home are just some of the experiences that await visitors.

U.S. active duty military members and their dependents are eligible for a free annual pass that provides unlimited entrance to lands managed by the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation, and Bureau of Land Management for one full year. If you qualify, please inquire about these passes at the Southwest Entrance Station during this free entrance weekend.
