Sunsets and sunrises are spectacular here in the Texas Panhandle. There are several overlooks where you can sit and watch Nature's coloring book unfold before you in the early morning or late evening.

There is no fee to visit Lake Meredith, though boaters must purchase a permit. Many of the campgrounds offer picnic tables and shade shelters for those looking for a place to have a picnic. Spring Canyon, which is day use only, also includes picnic tables and has fishing and swimming.

This popular site is located west of the town of Sanford off FM 1319. Take the road heading down the northeast side of Sanford Dam.
