Lake Mead NRA News Release August 7, 2002 Construction Complete on Echo Bay Launch Ramp Rehabilitation of the launch ramp at Echo Bay within Lake Mead National Recreation Area was completed today. The project included removal of approximately 4,000 square yards of the existing asphalt, replacing it with a new v-grooved concrete surface, and construction of a concrete sidewalk along the edge of the ramp. EHC, L.L.C., Inc., from Cody, WY, was the contractor on the project. This capital improvement project was funded from revenues generated by the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act of 1998 (Public Law 105-263), which provides for the disposal of public land by the Bureau of Land Management within in the Las Vegas Valley. Echo Bay is located on the Overton Arm of Lake Mead. Lake Mead National Recreation Area is a unit of the National Park Service.
