Motorcycle accident sends actress to hospital
A Saturday afternoon motorcycle accident on Northshore Road in Lake Mead National Recreation Area resulted in injuries to actress Lauren Hutton.
Hutton was on a 100-mile trip on a motorcycle across Southern Nevada with approximately 50 members of the Guggenheim Motorcycle Club when she appeared to have lost control of her motorcycle and left the road.
Rangers from Lake Mead NRA responded and provided initial emergency medical support before she was transported to University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
The incident occurred on Northshore Road, at approximately mile marker 30, just south of the turnoff for Echo Bay Marina. The motorcycle apparently left the road on the right-hand side and appeared to travel several hundred feet before stopping.
Hutton was wearing motorcycle-type clothing and a helmet at the time of the accident.
The motorcycle was said to be a rental bike and it was returned to the rental company shortly after the accident.
A National Park Service investigation is ongoing.
