Dead man found afloat in Lake Mead
A man was found floating in Lake Mead this morning, believed to be the same man reported missing to Clark County Metro last week.
Visitors to the lake found the body at approximately 11 a.m. Because of the way the man was dressed possible foul play was suspected and Clark County Metro was notified.
The body was recovered and turned over to the Clark County mortuary around 1:30 p.m. His wallet identified him as the same individual the park conducted a search and rescue for last week.
The name of the deceased will be withheld until the Coroner has notified next of kin.
This is the 12th fatality at Lake Mead National Recreation Area this year.
Lake Mead National Recreation Area is a unit of the National Park Service.
