Camper found dead at Boulder Beach campground
A 61-year old Texas man was found dead in his Boulder Beach Campground tent this morning at Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
No activity had been seen around the campsite for several days causing a campground volunteer to be suspicious and prompting them to notify the National Park Service.
Law enforcement rangers investigating the incident suspect no foul play. Initial information indicates the death probably occurred sometime during the past several days.
The body was removed from the campground late this morning; the Clark County coroner's office will accomplish notification of next of kin. The identity of the deceased man is being withheld until next of kin has been notified.
This is the second fatality of 2000 for Lake Mead National Recreation Area, a unit of the National Park Service.
