NEVADA-UNDERWATER SURVEYS-LAKE MEAD- Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) will be performing underwater geological research activities under permit from the National Park Service from Dec. 18, 2008 - Apr. 30, 2009 in an area between Saddle Island and Black Island bound by the following coordinates:
36° 3' 49.3" N, 114° 48' 26.2" W
36° 5' 0.17" N, 114° 48' 25.8" W
36° 6' 20.66" N, 114° 46' 9.93" W
36° 5' 31.90" N, 114° 45' 20.17" W
36° 3' 49.14" N, 114° 48' 2.13" W

SNWA will also be installing a subsurface turbidity curtain in Saddle Cove just north of Saddle Island causeway.  The curtain will be marked on the surface by lighted buoys.

Drilling barges may be in use during this time.  Mariners are requested exercise caution and maintain a 100-yard distance from barges and equipment.  For more information contact SNWA at (702) 862-3405.
