ONE DEAD, ONE INJURED IN ROLLOVER ACCIDENT AT LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA

LAS VEGAS - This evening at approximately 6:00 PM, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area Interagency Communication Center received an emergency call reporting a single vehicle rollover accident on Northshore Road in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. National Park Service Rangers responded. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger suffered critical injuries and was transported via helicopter to a local hospital.

The incident occurred at mile marker 23 on Northshore Road. Witnesses report the vehicle was traveling northbound on Northshore when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone. The vehicle rolled over three times.

Nevada Highway Patrol is handling the accident investigation. All media inquiries into this incident should be directed to NHP.
