Weather

The type of weather you will encounter will depend on the time of year you visit. During late May and early June you may find that some of the upper elevation lakes are still frozen. June and early July are usually the best months for hiking. During these months be prepared for cool temperatures, especially in the evenings and in mountainous terrain. August and September are typically wet, cool and windy.
