Summer Activities Gold Panning and Mining Demonstration Starting June 19, 2012 through Sept 6, 2012 gold panning and mining demonstrations are scheduled daily at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the visitor center basement. This free 20 minute talk is geared to all ages. Learn about permafrost and the difficulties encountered in the how the difficulties of the sub-arctic environment of the Klondike made locating and mining gold so difficult.
