Guide to Klondike Gold Rush Programs
|
Programs Types Several options exist for those wanting educational programs that center around the Klondike Gold Rush and its impact on Seattle, the states of Washington and Alaska, and the Yukon territory. Please look over the options and determine which might fit your learning opportunity. For questions concerning these or any of our educational programs please call 206-220-4240. Field Trips Many groups visit our park each year. Programs are offered from the day after Labor Day through the last day of May. Reservations are required for groups requesting an educational visit. This insures that the facility and staff will be available for your visit. ALL reservations are free and offered on a first-come basis. Please visit our Field Trip page for details concerning your visit. For open dates and times available for reservations please visit our Calendar page. Classroom Visits
To help students understand the Klondike Gold Rush we have developed several activities that you can download from this website. For groups visiting the park, Scavenger Hunts allow your students to interact and explore the displays. There are several scavenger hunts offered for grades 2 through 7. Our new four page Newspaper Activity sheet can be used both by classes visiting the park and those unable to visit the park. This activity is targets for grades 4 and 5, but portions can be used in earlier grades. For grades 6 through 12 we have collected a variety of activity ideas other teachers have had their students complete during visits to the park. For additional information contact Tim Karle at 206-220-4240. |
