Masonic robe An artificial collection of regalia, books, and other objects, and a few records from Copper Country Masonic lodges, including F.&A.M. Calumet Lodge No. 271, the Knights Templar Montrose Commandery, No. 38, and the Royal Arch Masons (R.A.M.) No. 153. Records include booklets, financial documents, membership information, and various other materials related to the administrative and ceremonial activities of the lodges. Records in the collection were produced between 1870 and 1994, and complement records held by the Michigan Technological University Archives and Copper Country Historical Collections. Did You Know?
The Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan was home to one of our nation's first mineral rushes. Prospectors seeking copper travelled there in the middle 1840's, a few years before the "49'ers" sought gold out west. The story of this rush is told today at Keweenaw National Historical Park.
