Saturday September 26th 2009, we will be holding our annual volunteer appreciation dinner and awarding the 2009 Volunteer of the Year Award. The dinner will be given by the staff of Kennesaw Mountain NBP in honor of our volunteers. A special screening of the Ken Burns special will be shown at this time.

The walk from the parking area to the Illinois Monument is approximately 200 yards.

Confederate armies were usually named for states or regions where they campaigned, while union armies were named after major rivers. Thus the Confederate Army of Tennessee opposed to the Union Army of the Tennessee.
