Plan A Field Trip

Field Trip Information

Field trips are available Monday through Friday during the Cobb County School calendar year ONLY.

We do not accept phone reservation requests. You must complete and submit the current registration sheet (found below).

All requests need to be submitted at least two weeks before the date you intend to visit.

We accept no more that 50 students at a time. If you must bring a larger number of students please consider coming on multiple days.

Also, we require that you bring at least one adult for every ten children.

All field trips are required to be booked by reservation through the link below.

Available Field Trip Programs

There are two field trip options: self-guided and Ranger-guided.


Self-guided option programs:

  • "All About Artillery worksheet" & park film 
  • "I Am a Civil War Soldier" tour & park film
  • "Cheatham Battlefield Scavenger Hunt" & film
  • Touring Museum on Your Own & park film

Curriculum Standard - Meets Georgia standards for social studies for grade five in United States History since 1860 (SS5H1 C – Identify major battles and campaigns; SS5H1 E - Describe the effects of war on the North and South); Meets Georgia Reading standards for grade five (ELA5R1 D - Relates a literary work to information about its setting [historically or culturally]; ELA5LSV1 – The student participates in student-to-teacher, student-to-student, and group
verbal interactions.

Age Level - Appropriate for ages 9-11
Program Length - 45 minutes


Ranger-guided Option Programs:

  • "A Kid's Life in Atlanta: 1864" & park film
  • "Life of a Civil War Soldier" & park film
  • "Idle Hands: Kids' Chores in 1864" & park film
  • "What's That Smell? 1860s Hygiene" & park film
  • "Oh, Those Crazy Cannons!" & park film
  • "Museum Scavenger Hunt" & park film
