Kenai Fjords National Park is happy to announce the arrival of our new superintendent, Bekki Lasell. The park will be hosting a gathering at the Seward Community Library on Tuesday, February 18 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for an opportunity for the community to meet Bekki and connect with National Park Service staff. The Seward Community Library is located at 239 6th Avenue in Seward.  Light refreshments will be served. No formal RSVP is necessary.

We hope to see you there!

Did You Know?

River Otter

River otters defecate in certain spots to mark their territory. Researchers in Kenai Fjords National Park have discovered that these "latrine sites" enrich the soil, allowing plants to grow in those spots that aren't found anywhere else close by.
