Park Campground Closed Due to Bear Activity

Exit Glacier Campground Closed from Thursday 8/22 through Sunday 8/25.

Due to bear activity, the Exit Glacier campground will be closed for four nights starting Thursday and will re-open on Monday.

After re-occurring damage to garbage cans in the Exit Glacier area, a bear broke into a camper's vehicle early Thursday morning. While this bear did not obtain any food from the vehicle, the number and intensity of bear incidents in the area seem to be increasing.

Bears that obtain human food are likely to seek out similar opportunities.This closure is intended to help protect park visitors, their property, and minimize the chances of this bear becoming a food-conditioned bear that sees people and their property as a reliable source of food.
