Become a Park Satellite Program
STEPS TO BECOME A PARK SATELLITE
1. Find out what plants are native to your area and will grow under conditions you have.

2. Begin removing pest plants. This is the most important thing you can do, and by itself could qualify you as a park satellite.

3.Check for neighborhood restrictions on meadows if you are planning one.

4. Take a hard look at your soil, sun, and water conditions. Your neighborhood may have had deep soil of leaf mold, and is now hard packed clay. Hydrology may also have changed.

5. Fill out the request form below, and mail it to the park at Park Satellite Program, Kate Bucco, Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens, 1900 Anacostia Drive, SE, Washington, DC 20020

6. Maintain control of exotics, and watch for wildlife to come use your park satellite.

Did You Know?
The Lincoln Museum is filled with artifacts relating to the assassination. It only holds, however, approximately 10% of the total museum collection. The curator uses one case to show visitors objects that are typically housed in museum storage. This temporary exhibit changes on a regular basis.
