Katmai National Park and Preserve is currently developing a commercial services strategy to provide guidance on how it can best partner with businesses to provide visitor services within the park. Katmai’s remote location and unique geographic features means that almost all of the park's visitors rely on commercial services for transportation and services. More than one hundred businesses, based in King Salmon, Homer, Kodiak, Anchorage, and other nearby communities currently provide services to visitors in the park.

The park's management team is eager for feedback on current services, as well as suggestions regarding new services the park might offer in the future. The public is invited to provide input. The park will be accepting comments online through Friday, July 31, 2015. An open house will be held to discuss the commercial services strategy on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Katmai National Park and Preserve’s headquarters in King Salmon.
