  • Mauka-Makai Trail From Visitor Center to 'Ai'opio Fishtrap Closed Aug 11-22nd

    Due to the unforeseen weather conditions of Hurricane Iselle, the trail maintenance project will be extended an additional week from Aug 18-22nd. Please contact the Park Visitor Center at (808) 326-9057 for additional information.

Getting Around

Because the park spans a broad area and has numerous entrances, it is helpful to have a personal vehicle when exploring the grounds. No public transportation is readily available to the park and no transportation is provided by the park service.

Did You Know?

pohuehue growing along the shoreline

Did you know the pohuehue is the beach morning glory native to Hawaii. It was used for fishing and medicines. Its lavender flowers open each morning and close by the afternoon.
