| National Parks and What Park Rangers Do |
|
National Parks are special places and park rangers are the people who take care of the parks. Joshua Tree National Park was first a monument in 1936. It became a park in 1994. It is 794,000 acres. Thats the size of the state of Rhode Island! We would like to share with you how to visit our desert. Dont pick up tortoise unless its crossing the road. Dont feed the animals. Its not good for them. Walk on a path or trail so you wont step on any plants. Dont build a campfire except in a fire ring inside a picnic area or campground. Put your trash in the trash cans. Can you think of other ways to protect our national parks? |
| National park rangers do many different jobs. Here are some of the different rangers you can find at Joshua Tree National Park. |
