July 24, 2007 Other park campgrounds remain open including Cottonwood, Black Rock, Indian Cove, Belle and Hidden Valley. Jumbo Rocks Campground is scheduled to reopen on noon, Tuesday, July 31st unless the bees continue to pose a threat to public safety. Bees are attracted to campsites and dumpsters. Visitors in campgrounds and picnic areas can reduce the threat of bee stings by not leaving soda cans and water bottles out to attract foraging bees. If someone is stung, the stinger should be scraped out and ice applied to reduce pain and swelling. Seek immediate medical attention if breathing is troubled. |
