Twentynine Palms, CA—Interagency fire crews that included the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management and Twentynine Palms Fire Dept. responded to a quarter of an acre fire at Jumbo Rocks Campground around 12:15 pm. The fire, which has been 100% contained, burned vegetation and damaged two road signs. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The park remains open in spite of falling ash and poor air quality caused by the Lake Fire in the San Bernardino Forest. Park officials ask visitors to be especially vigilant with regards to fire safety during these hot, dry conditions.
