NPS_junior_rangerWe offer a free walk-through Jr. Ranger program for kids 7-12 years old in the park. When kids complete 8 out of the 10 Activities in the book, and the important "Whose Job Is It?", a park ranger will congratulate and present them with a John Muir NHS Jr. Ranger badge!

John Muir's father-in-law, Dr. John Strentzel, came to California in the Gold Rush of '49. Already a medical doctor, he became a ferryman, a farmer, a hotel & general store manager, and a winemaker. Dr. Strentzel had exhibited award winning wines as early as 1861.
