Your Safety

Firearms in the National Parks
As of February 22, 2010, a new federal law allows people who can legally possess firearms under applicable federal, state, and local laws, to legally possess firearms in this park. The new law states that NPS areas will follow the laws of the state in which they are located with regard to the carrying and possession of weapons on park lands, except for designated areas.

Wildlife at the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site
The National Park Service discourages any sort of human interaction with foxes. These actions can cause foxes to lose their natural fear of people, become bolder and more aggressive toward humans, and ultimately lead to their removal from the park.

Trail Renovations at the Boyhood Farm
The walking trail of the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site Boyhood Farm is under renovation. During this time of renovation the staff asks that all visitors follow the detour signs and use caution. There are Park Rangers and other park staff available to assist with guidance and answer questions.
