La Fiesta En El Parque

Authentic food, festive music, arts and crafts, and a children's carnival are part of the "La Fiesta En El Parque". The festival is scheduled for October 22 at Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in Plains, GA from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Entertainment will take place on stage at Jimmy Carter National Historic Site's main visitor center Plains High School. Havana Son and other local groups will be performing traditional Mexican music and other Latin rhythms like salsa, son, boleros, cumbia and meringue.

The children's area will include a jumping castle with a slide, an obstacle course and a newly added playground located at Plains High School. Other activities for the children include face-painting, games and arts and crafts. Booths with information about health, education and social services will be located in the festival area at Plains High School.

A "Taste of Latin America" will be set up on the grounds of Plains High School. This area will host a variety of typical dishes from different countries. The festival is free and open to the public.
