  • Pedestrian Access to the Gateway Arch From Downtown

    Pedestrian traffic on the Chestnut, Market St. and Pine St. bridges are closed. This leaves Walnut St. as the only point of entry to the Arch grounds from the city. If you park in the Arch garage there is access from the north end of the park. See maps. More »

Using Living History Volunteers in costume, the event will present the stories of the people of St. Louis during the British Attack on May 26, 1780. Their stories will be told using their own words from their point of view. Each group of people had a different perspective on the events; the Spanish soldiers; the local militia; the merchants; the women and the British Indians. 18th century artillery and musket drill and firing demonstrations on the half hour.
