Pedestrian Access to the Gateway Arch From Downtown
Pedestrian traffic on the Chestnut bridge will be closed as of today Monday, March 31, 2014. This will leave the Pine St. bridge as the Arch grounds point of entry to and from the city. The new Walnut St. bridge will open next Friday to foot traffic.

Youngsters will be able to sing campfire songs with National Park Service (NPS) ranger Kris Sneeringer at 10:00 am and 12:00 noon. Dress up like an NPS ranger (hat,tie,and Ike jacket) and take photos next to a life size image of Gerald Ford as a seasonal NPS ranger, visit stations in the Museum of Westward Expansion that highlight park themes and resources (sodhouse, tipi and covered wagon) and information about similar NPS sites (Tallgrass Prairie, Knife River Indian Village, Oregon National Trail). Play NPS bingo to win Civil War trading cards featuring NPS Civil War sites. Explore a backpack full of special Junior Ranger items available in the Gateway Arch Giftshop (Junior Ranger hat and vest, NPS storybook and puzzle).
Site films from other NPS sites will play in the Special Exhibits Gallery from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm as part of National Park Service Week.
