Date: October 23, 2009

October marks the 44th anniversary of the completion of the Gateway Arch! During the celebration event, visitors will have an opportunity to "Meet the Builders" and hear their first hand recollections of the construction of the tallest national monument in the United States. The builders, who were the most skilled in their trade in the 1960's, will share their private memorabilia and photos of their incredible experience.

Kids can learn more about the construction of the Gateway Arch at the activity area through interaction with puzzles, coloring pages, and tabletop and floor interactive arch building blocks.

Birthday cake will be available for visitors in the Levee Mercantile while supplies last. In addition, discounts will be offered on commemorative items in the Museum Store and Levee Mercantile.

The celebration event is presented by the Jefferson National Parks Association, with support from the Gateway Arch Riverfront and the National Park Service at Jefferson National Expansion Memorial (JNEM).
