P.S. After the return of the expedition I became a partner in Manuel Lisa's fur trading ventures on the Upper Missouri and the Yellowstone. In 1810 I was with the party of Lisa's men who established a fur post at the Three Forks of the Missouri. I was killed near the post by a war party of Blackfeet in 1810.
