Songs of the Lower Mississippi Delta
The park is proud to announce the release of a double disc CD highlighting the rich cultural diversity and history found in the music of the lower Mississippi delta. Every song has a tale to tell; from historic monologues and poetry set to music, to work songs, ring shouts, blues, and coded spirituals. Park rangers and researchers have provided song material, suggestions, and expertise in this collaborative effort to identify and interpret songs connected to National Parks and neighboring communities throughout the Lower Mississippi Delta region.
