Detour at Jamestown Island Entrance
Road construction at the Jamestown Entrance station has required detour signs and barrackades. Because the normal exit lanes have been closed, the entrance lanes have been modified for two way traffic. JAMESTOWN IS OPEN! Please be careful.

2012 Upcoming Events: January 14-16: Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday - Free admission to National Parks and other Federal sites throughout the country. Colonial National Historical Park, Jamestown, VA (757) 856-1200. January 28: Life at James Fort - Meet Anas Todkill (11:00a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) and learn about his experiences as one of the first English settlers at Jamestown. Feel free to drop in anytime during this family-friendly program at the Voorhees Archaearium. With Todkill as the guide, guests will have opportunities to explore many unique objects such as arms and armor, ceramics, tools, and trade items that were important to a settler's survival. This program is free with paid admission to Historic Jamestown. February 18: African American History Month Special Program - In celebration of African-American History Month, Historic Jamestowne will offer special living history presentations highlighting the role played by African Americans at Jamestowne during the Civil War. April 7: Archaeology Field Season Opening Day 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. - Share in the moments of discovery, meet the archaeology team lead by Dr. Bill Kelso and learn about excavation plans for the new field season. Explore what life was like at the fort from a settler's perspective, observe historic trades, take a walking tour and participate in family activities. This event is free with paid admission to Historic Jamestowne. April 21-29: National Park Week - Free admission to National Parks and other Federal sites throughout the country. May 12-13: Jamestown Landing Weekend - Special programs and tours commemorate the landing of the first settlers at Jamestown in 1607. Colonial National Historical Park, Jamestown, VA (757)856-1200. July 30: First Assembly Day Commemoration - Living history interpreters will reflect on the significance of the first Assembly in 1619 and its impact on the residents of the Virginia Colony. August 4: Arrival of the First Africans Program - Special program highlights the contribution of the first Africans in 1619 to America's food heritage. September 22: Bacon's Rebellion - An evening walking tour will relate the details of Bacon's Rebellion as they occurred at Jamestown, including a symbolic burning of the town site.
