2010 Historic Triangle Shuttle Service

Transportation to Jamestown and Yorktown Departs Colonial Williamsburg Every Yorktown, Va. – The Historic Triangle Shuttle, the public transportation service connecting America’s Historic Triangle of Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown, will operate daily between March 22 and October 31 in 2010. Provided as a free service by the National Park Service, the two routes of the Historic Triangle Shuttle depart every 30 minutes from the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center, one traveling along the Colonial Parkway to Jamestown, the other following the Parkway to Yorktown. Once arriving at Jamestown and Yorktown, additional shuttle services provide transportation to the various attractions. The Jamestown Area Shuttle provides transportation around the Jamestown area, with continuous service between Historic Jamestowne, the Glasshouse, Jamestown Settlement and Jamestown Information Station parking area along the Colonial Parkway. For visitors riding to Yorktown, the Yorktown Trolley provides service between the Yorktown Battlefield Visitor Center and the Yorktown Victory Center, as well as several stops between in the historic village, including Riverwalk Landing. The buses for the Historic Triangle Shuttle are provided by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation as part of a Cooperative Agreement with the National Park Service. Additional input and coordination in the development of the Historic Triangle Shuttle system was provided by Preservation Virginia, the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation and York County. Historic Triangle Shuttle Service to Yorktown departs from the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center daily on the half-hour between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and makes stops at both the Yorktown Battlefield Visitor Center and the Yorktown Victory Center. Visitors can board for return service to Colonial Williamsburg from either the Yorktown Battlefield or the Yorktown Victory Center, with pickups every half-hour between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., and a final pickup at 5:15 p.m. Visitors should note that the Historic Triangle Shuttle merely provides transportation to Yorktown; it does not provide interpretive tours or transportation to individual attractions around the Yorktown Battlefield.
